On the tree of life, it doesn’t matter what fruit grows, just avoid the fruit of ‘what if.’

"Perhaps the antidote to all of this is to get out of your head and into the world. To surround yourself with other people and laugh about the fact we’re all a little lost." — this is such a good point and a great reminder that feelings of loneliness are not something to minimize or ignore but should be taken as a way we're trying to tell ourselves to go out into the world and interact with someone! And sometimes it's just nice to be in an environment where there are lots of people and you can observe them, even if you don't interact directly with them, especially if you're an introvert. A very important reminder to get out of one's head!

This was a necessary read. It’s incredibly grounding to sit alone in a café and watch other people’s lives unfold and listen (eavesdrop lmao) to their conversations when they’re being loud enough. It makes you realize you’re not alone and we may have more similarities with a stranger than we can ever imagine.

I find it really pulls us back into reality — grounds us, as you say. A little eavesdropping never hurt anybody either, it’s always interesting hearing about other peoples lives. A gentle reminder that everybody is experiencing the same problems but in different realities.

I love sitting in a coffee shop and just observing people. The way they interact with each other, the things that catch their interest, the way they speak and tell stories. It's all very beautiful

It's such a simple activity that can keep you entertained for hours, much to the detriment of my wallet though.
